Dear Researchers,

Professor Makoto Yamashita from Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Tech) will be
visiting our department on Wednesday, June 25. He will be giving a talk at
11:00 in SA 6008 entitled “Synthesis and Properties of Aluminum-Containing
Intermetallic Bonds”, the abstract for which is attached. Please mark this
in you calendar and plan to attend.

Professor Yamashita is an exceptional scientist – he published the first
example of nucleophilic boron (Science 2006, 314, 114: DOI:
10.1126/science.1131914 <https://doi.org/10.1126/science.1131914>), which
is something that I always teach about in my Chem 3840 course.
