Since Friday, we noticed a persistent slowdown on our server. Emre, Saeed
and I investigated and could not determine the error, despite restarting
every service (including the nvidia services), and stopping all user
accounts. Rebooting finally solved the slowdown, but we still don't know
what caused it in the first place.

Please keep in mind that you will need to restart your VNC server before
using the GUI. UltraScan HPC jobs should be running at normal speed now
again, and database queries should be fast again.

If you notice any persistent slowdown agan, please notify us immediately,
perhaps we can figure it out the next time it happens. Also, if you run
nVidia GPU jobs, please check the system responsiveness right after
starting a cryosparc run or whatever job you are running to see if it
slowed down.
